The great thing about white nail polish, is that alone, it’s intense. You can’t miss it. However, I like to dress my nails up. Sure, a solid color is nice to wear, but when I change my nail polish once a week, I like to keep it interesting. This one is with some glitter, white stripes, and some hand painted hearts.
To achieve this design, you need.
- Superstar by Pure Ice, or any white nail polish
- Clear base coat or clear top coat
- Beware by Pure Ice, or a fine silver glitter (You don’t want the larger glitter chunks for this one.)
- Strawberry Margarita by O.P.I Nail Lacquer
- Suzi Shops & Island Hops by O.P.I. Nail Lacquer
- Straight line nail art design sticker guide
- Fine paint brush or fine dotting tool (for the hearts)
Paint all nails with a clear base coat. When the base coat is dry, paint all nails with the white (2 coats), except your nails on your ring finger.
On your ring finger, paint 1 coat of the glitter. Note: If you’re not using the same glitter nail polish as what was used for this look, and have a really thin type glitter that doesn’t put much glitter on the nail, you may need to paint another coat or two.
Once the glitter polish dries, take the straight line nail art design stickers and place them evenly over your nails. Leave a little space in between, so your glitter polish plays peekaboo. You don’t have to try for perfection, but try to make them as evenly spaced as possible. Make sure to press the stickers well on the sides of your ring finger, so you can paint over it without problems. Once the nail art sticker guides are secured, paint over it with the white nail polish. You might only need one coat of white nail polish, but if the brand you use is thin, you may need a second coat.
Wait about 4 or 5 minutes before peeling the nail art sticker guides. Peel each, one at a time, and in the direction of the sticker – straight across. Gently pat down nail polish that may try to come up. Let the stripes dry.
After the white stripes have dried, you can paint the hearts. I like to put one low, and to the side, and the other, a bit higher up in the nail. For this look, I used a dotting tool with a small dot. I used a piece of scrap paper to pour a tiny amount of polish, that I could dip the dotting tool in. With the pink nail polishes, I started with a small ‘V’ and then made 2 dots. After that, I filled in any spots. Once the hearts were dry, I followed up with a top coat over all of my nails.
